Summer Book Club
Join us for a free summer reading adventure!

Summer Book Club sessions will include group read-aloud time, an activity related to our book, and one-on-one reading time with a Reading Mentors volunteer. All volunteers have been screened, and are qualified and eager to pass on their love of reading to students. Each week your child will read with the same volunteer in order to further encourage their engagement in reading. Every two weeks there will be a Book Giveaway Day where students get to pick out one new book to take home and keep.
Due to the structure of this program, we ask that if you register your child, they are able to be mostly consistent in attendance. Being able to attend at least 6 weeks out of the 8 week program.

Book Blast!
A family book party box!
Register your student for a free box
that contains books and activities that will inspire a love of reading for the whole family!
Your families' box will include all the supplies and instructions needed for 4 individual book parties at home. Each book party will include a Read-Aloud Book(to be read aloud to your family or together with your family), supplies and instructions for an activity related to the Read-Aloud Book, and an encouragement to enjoy reading together for an additional 20-30 minutes(extra books provided for this).
Books and activities for Book Blast are best suited for incoming 1st-4th graders; however, any student incoming K-6th grade can be registered to receive a box. If you have more than one elementary student, please only register for one box. On the registration form, you will be asked to indicate how many elementary students that you have, how many activity participants total there will be(up to 6), and if you would like a English or Spanish box. Your Book Blast box will be personalized to include the amount of supplies that your specific family requires. We hope that your whole family will join in on the fun!
On June 29th, from 10am - 12pm, we will have a Book Blast Event in Canby to distribute boxes and experience the first party together as a community! Your registered elementary age students will be able to select 4 additional books to add to your families box at the event. Registration is required to receive a box and closes on June 3rd at 5pm. We hope that you will join us! It's going to be a Blast!
