For Volunteers

Are you enthusiastic, caring, and able to serve at one or more weeks of camp? Join us in serving and loving the elementary school kids of Canby!

• Responsibilities include helping with arts and crafts, leading and playing games, facilitating small group discussions, and more! 

• Preferred volunteer availability is Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a selected week of camp.  If availability to commit to the full week is limited do contact us at info@thecanbycenter.org to discuss other options.

• Volunteers must complete the screening process prior to volunteering begins.  Please allow at least 2 weeks for that process prior to your anticipated volunteer start date.  Additionally volunteers are required to attend a training session prior to the beginning of camp.  Training dates will be sent to approved volunteers when screening is complete.

Can I volunteer for multiple weeks?​

• Yes!

 

How old do I have to be?

• Our volunteers must be 18 or older. However, we will accept applications from 17-year-olds who are entering their senior year of high school. 

 

I filled out the application; am I guaranteed a volunteer position and when will I hear back? 

• Completed applications do not guarantee a volunteer position, it simply gets the screening process started.  The Canby Center staff will notify you of the next steps in the process and when your volunteer involvement is solidified.  Feel free to contact us at info@thecanbycenter.org if you have questions at any point in the process.
